Handheld sensor that can see through walls for Surveillance, Security or Rescue operations.

Abstract

A Swedish SME has developed a hand held radar device that enhances personal safety for security forces and police swat teams by detecting human beings through the walls before entering the room or building. An easy to use device with an affordable price will make the personal radar an indispensable safety device for security forces all over the world. The SME is looking for technical co operation with firms in the Surveillance, Security or Rescue sector.

Description

The Swedish SME has developed a radar systems that are working in the frequency range of 1-10 GHz. The radar is capable of detecting a human in a 70 degree sector 3-5 meter behind a 20 cm concrete wall, 5-10 meters behind an interior wall , 25 meters without any obstacles. This sensor system can operate more than 8 hours on internal standard batteries. The sensor unit is lightweight 700 gram and case size is 9/12X12X3 cm
When it comes to detection of moving objects the Doppler technique is outstanding. It can detect any moving object even free running water but not smoke.
All other techniques generate more false alarms and are not as sensitive to movements.

Innovative Aspects:
Easy to use, lightweight and hand held sensor unit to be used in Surveillance, Security or Rescue operations.
