Safe installations of low-energy lamps in public places

Abstract

A Swedish SME has developed a secure way to lock the enclosing over a low-energy lamp. The company is looking for joint venture agreement with a retail company, and in the future for industrial partners interested in further development for new applications.

Description

The technology today consists of an enclosing of a lamp cover that is fixed to the wall by a socket and a enclosing that is screwed over the bulb. With only 3 extra parts that will be inserted into the standard socket this will make it possible to lock the enclosing to the socket. There is one adapter for the socket and one for the enclosing and the third part is a locking ring that can only be dismantled by a special tool. This system makes its possible to have low-energy lamps in public places without the risk of theft. Energy and service costs will be saved due to the fact that low-energy lamps have a longer lifetime.
This is a Swedish patented invention that simply solves the problem of person safety and theft and at the same time lowers energy costs, and gives users the possibility to lower their maintenance costs considerably, achieving therefore a more effective business.
In the future they are looking for a system that could communicate with the lamps in order to allow determining if they are still in use or broken. The company is looking for joint venture agreement with a retail company, and in the future for industrial partners interested in further development for new applications.

Innovative Aspects:
An advantage over conventional socket is that it is possible to add the locking device into the old socket. The novelty and originality of this invention is the implementation of a securer installation for person and material by merely adapting a standard socket. This solution offers a technique where it is possible to use old sockets with low-energy lamps. ·
