Gillian Kears
Business Innovation Manager
Gillian heads up the Business Innovation team working with regional organisations looking to commercialise innovative new products and bring them to market. One of the key roles is assessing innovative technologies and help secure finance through national and European funding streams, such as FP7, TSB and Grants for R&D.
A MSc graduate of Northumbria University in Urban Policy & Regeneration, she has over 20 years experience in inward investment and economic development, working with indigenous business to successfully exploit their business capabilities regionally, nationally and globally. Gillian has a particular interest in the healthcare and chemical sectors and is the Chair of the Chemical Sector Group in Europe for the Enterprise Europe Network.
