 Transforming the future of heat management

A North East company is leading the world's first collaborative nanotechnology project to develop a new liquid coolant that will combat heat build-up in next generation data centres and high-tech industry. Led by Ashington-based Thermacore Europe, the pan-European 7.5m project named NanoHex aims to produce an environmentally friendly heat transfer fluid significantly more efficient than current coolants which can be used in a diverse range of applications from high-speed trains to data centresmore

 
 Great feedback from Innovation Workshops

Enterprise Europe Network North East England (EEN), in partnership with Newcastle Science City, delivered two successful workshops in September and November 2009 to help North East start-ups and companies developing innovative products or services to learn more about the full life cycle of commercialisation. Some 40 regional companies benefited from these two workshops aimed at equipping businesses in the North East with the skills and confidence needed to exploit the commercial opportunities of their innovative products or servicesmore 

 
 Making EU Ministers more accountable

The Treaty of Lisbon entered into force on 1st December 2009, although this may not mean too much Joe Public, it will ensure that European citizens have their say in European affairs and see their fundamental rights set out in a charter. It will also ensure a more democratic, accountable and open Union where citizens will have the right to know what their Ministers are deciding at the EU levelmore
